Bookmarklets - Add extra functionalities to your browser using simple scripts

Bookmarklet is nothing but few lines of Javascript code that you can place in your browser favorites or bookmarks.

You store a bookmarklet exactly as you would store any normal bookmark or favorite. The main difference is that clicking a bookmarklet may perform some useful function other than just opening a webpage.

To make it more clear, regular bookmarks (or favorites) are just locations to visit, like “http://www.gmail.com”. Bookmarklets are javascript code that the browser runs on the current page, and they’re marked by “javascript:” instead of “http://”.

Steps to add bookmarkets to your browser,

1. Right click any one of the below links
2. Select "Add to Favorites"
3. Click "Yes" when you see the Security Alert
4. Select a Folder in the "Create In" dropdown menu
5. Click "Add"
6. To use the bookmarklet, access it from sidebar to avoid few additional clicks.

Here are few sample bookmarklets.
