Get SMS from Google as Reminder for your events in Google Calander

Here are the instructions on how you can setup SMS reminders for your tasks.

1. Setup Google Calendar

Visit the URL http://calander.google.com/ sign in to your gmail account if not already done.
Click Settings -> General tab.
Change Country & Your current time zone.


2. Setup your Mobile in Google Calendar

In order for you to receive a SMS message from Google Calendar you will first have to setup a mobile phone in the settings.

Click Settings -> Mobile Setup
Enter your mobile number [ex: +971501234567] and then click Send Verification Code button to get verificaiton code from Google. Enter the verification Code and Click Finish Setup button  to complete the setup.


3. Set Default notification options for each calander

Click Settings -> Calanders and Click notifications link of each canlander to set default notification options.

4. Finally start creating events to set & get SMS notification

Click Create Event, provide event details, verify Options, Save the event and wait for the SMS from Google to your mobile.
